Set up, run and look after your BR-2000-DC. Everything here comes from Tennant's operator manual and use-and-care chart, rewritten in plain steps, with the parts linked to the list above.
1Put a pad on
- Unplug the machine. Use a 20 in (508 mm) pad made for 2,000 rpm high-speed burnishing, like the 20 in burnishing pad (TN4022882).
- Pull the handle height lever, raise the handle upright and tilt the machine back so the handle rests on the floor.
- Take the plastic centerlock off the pad driver (TN4038852), center the pad, and turn the centerlock clockwise until it is tight.
- Tilt the machine back down.

2Put a dust bag in
- Turn the knob at the back of the machine counterclockwise to open the bag compartment.
- Slide the bag collar over the intake tube. The standard bag is the cloth filter bag (TN4042312); an optional filter bag (TN4042378) is also listed.
- Always start with an empty bag. Never run it without a bag in place.

3Start burnishing
- Make sure the floor is completely dry. This machine is for dry hard floors only.
- Pull and turn the quick-release cord hook up to free the cord, then plug into a grounded outlet. No extension cords.
- Pull the height lever and set the handle where it is comfortable. The levers won't work while the handle is upright.
- Press the safety lock buttons on top of the handle, then pull the on/off levers.

4Set the pad pressure
- Turn the pressure knob counterclockwise for more pressure, clockwise for less.
- Watch the pad pressure meter (TN4036866). Never run in the red zone: you can damage the motor and the floor.
- Work away from the cord and outlet, in a W pattern or straight passes. Keep moving.
- Let go of the levers to stop, and hold the handle until the pad stops.

No. Tennant says the machine is not designed for spray buffing. It is made to burnish dry hard floors only.

What does the red zone on the pad pressure meter mean?
Too much pressure. Running in the red can damage the motor and the floor and will trip the breaker. Turn the pressure knob clockwise to back it off.

Why does my BR-2000 keep tripping its breaker?
Usually too much pad pressure or a loaded or too-aggressive pad. Unplug it, wait 15 seconds, press the reset button on the handle, then lower the pressure or change the pad. If it keeps tripping, have the carbon brushes and breaker checked.

It comes with a cloth filter bag, and Tennant also lists an optional filter bag. Empty and shake out the bag after every use and never run without one.
