“A propane burnisher is the tool for large hard floors that need a high-gloss finish without dragging a cord, like grocery and big-box retail floors and long school corridors. This reconditioned Clarke burnishes a 27-inch path and runs on a 17 hp Kawasaki V-twin engine, with electric key start from an onboard 12 V battery.

Because propane burnishers work indoors, the safety and emissions features matter. This one has a catalytic muffler for the exhaust, an automatic fuel shutoff when the engine stops, and a low-oil shutdown to protect the engine. Clarke's flexible pad driver is designed to follow the contour of uneven floors.

Be realistic about what propane needs: trained operators, good ventilation and a steady supply of 20 lb tanks. If that doesn't fit your building, a battery burnisher is the better choice. This is an earlier-generation Clarke model, so ask your sales rep exactly what comes with this unit, such as the propane tank, pad driver and pad.”

27-inch propane burnishing for large floors.

This reconditioned Clarke propane burnisher has a 27-inch (68.6 cm) burnishing path and a 17 hp Kawasaki V-twin engine with electric key start from an onboard 12 V battery. A catalytic muffler treats engine exhaust, the fuel shuts off automatically when the engine stops, and a low-oil shutdown protects the engine. Clarke's flexible pad driver follows the contour of uneven floors.

Clarke rated its 27-inch, 17 hp propane burnisher at a pad speed of 1,500 rpm, running on a 20 lb (9.1 kg) propane tank with an 80% safety fill. The engine on this unit is serviced with new filters and spark plugs, its cooling fins are cleaned, and the burnisher is tested and inspected before shipping.
