“The TRADITION Wide Track SC899H is the wide-path member of Sanitaire's shake-out-bag TRADITION family. Its 16-inch cleaning path covers more carpet per stroke than the 12-inch TRADITION models, so it suits long corridors, ballrooms, open offices and other large carpeted areas.
It keeps the straightforward TRADITION design. A 7-amp, 840-watt motor rated at 145 CFM and 2,000 hours of motor life feeds an 18-quart shake-out bag, so there are no disposable bags to buy and the bag holds a lot before it needs emptying. The chrome hood adds durability, the 50-foot quick-change pigtail cord can be swapped quickly if it gets damaged, and the Quick Kleen fan chamber gives access to the impeller fan to clear clogs.
Two things to weigh. There are no on-board tools, so edges and above-floor dusting need a second machine. And at 79 dBA it is louder than Sanitaire's 70.6 dBA FORCE QuietClean uprights, which makes it a better fit for after-hours cleaning than for occupied spaces.”
