“The TRADITION SC689B is a 12-inch TRADITION upright that uses a dirt cup instead of disposable bags. It fits light daily vacuuming in small offices, classrooms, retail floors and guest rooms, where a bagged machine would mean keeping a stock of bags on the shelf.
Debris collects in a 1.9-quart dirt cup paired with an outer cloth bag. To empty it, you shake out the cloth bag, release two latches, swing the lid out and pull the cup. A 5-amp, 600-watt motor rated at 120 CFM drives the 12-inch path, and the brush roll and belt change without tools. At 14 pounds with a 30-foot cord, it is easy to carry from room to room.
Be realistic about capacity. A 1.9-quart cup fills quickly, and Sanitaire recommends emptying it before and after each use. There are no on-board tools, and at 79 dBA it is not a quiet machine. For bigger carpeted areas, the SC684G, with an 18-quart shake-out bag, a 7-amp motor and a 50-foot cord, covers more ground between stops.”

The Sanitaire TRADITION SC689B is a commercial upright vacuum with a 1.9-quart dirt cup in place of disposable bags. Sanitaire designed it for easy maintenance, with quick-release latches for emptying the dirt cup and tool-free brush roll and belt replacement. It has a 12-inch cleaning path and weighs 14 lb.
A 5-amp, 600-watt extended-life motor produces 120 CFM of airflow. The dirt cup works together with an outer cloth bag, which is shaken out when the cup is emptied. A 12-inch wood brush roll is driven by a Style RD belt, and the 30-foot cord plugs into a standard 120-volt grounded outlet.
