“The TRADITION SC688B is a simple bagged upright from Sanitaire's 12-inch TRADITION line. It runs on a 7-amp, 840-watt motor rated at 145 CFM and 2,000 hours, and it fits daily carpet care in offices, classrooms, small retail floors and hotel corridors.
Its cleaning performance carries the CRI Gold Seal of Approval. Debris goes into a 6.1-quart Style ST synthetic bag, and the dual-zipper pull makes bag changes quick. The chrome VGII brush roll uses replaceable bristle strips, and both the brush roll and belt change without tools, which keeps routine upkeep simple. The 50-foot cord gives you good reach between outlets, and the machine weighs 17 pounds.
Know what it is not. There are no on-board tools, so plan on a separate canister or backpack for edges and dusting. At 79 dBA it is better suited to after-hours cleaning than occupied spaces, and bags are a recurring item to keep on hand.
