“The EXTEND SC3683D is a compact canister for the detail work an upright can't reach. At 10 pounds with a shoulder strap, it goes up stairs, into hotel rooms, onto stages and between rows of seating, which makes it a useful second machine for crews that already run uprights.
The tool kit is the reason to choose it. A telescopic metal wand pairs with a combination carpet/bare floor tool, an upholstery tool, a crevice tool and a dusting brush, so one machine covers floors, furniture, blinds and ledges. A 10-amp motor rated at 135 CFM provides the suction, a slip ring lets you adjust suction to the surface, and a rinsable foam pre-motor filter backs up the disposable bag.
The trade-offs come with the size. The 2.6-quart Style MM bag fills quickly, and the 20-foot cord means more outlet changes than a typical upright. For long runs of open carpet, use an upright and keep the SC3683D for detail cleaning. It is rated at 71 dBA.”
