“The L-Series is the walk-behind to look at when the floor is big and open but a rider is more machine than the building needs. Nineteen-gallon tanks and up to 3.5 hours of run time let one operator cover a lot of hallway, cafeteria or sales floor before refilling, and Timberline rates it at up to 110,000 square feet per charge.
The real decision is the deck. The disk decks (26 or 28 inch) are the everyday choice and the lowest-maintenance option. The orbital decks (24 or 28 inch) are for facilities that strip and recoat VCT, because they remove finish without chemical stripper and leave no swirl marks. The cylindrical decks (26 or 30 inch) sweep and scrub at the same time, which helps on grouted tile, rubber flooring and floors with small debris. RPS hand-builds these in Wisconsin on a bolted steel frame and uses non-proprietary parts, so any qualified battery-equipment tech can work on one.”
A large walk-behind scrubber with disk, orbital or cylindrical decks
The Timberline L-Series is a battery-powered, traction-drive walk-behind floor scrubber built by RPS Corporation in Racine, Wisconsin, for large, open areas such as schools, hospitals, grocery stores, shopping centers and airports. It carries 19-gallon solution and recovery tanks, runs up to 3.5 hours on standard 175 Ah wet batteries and covers up to 110,000 sq ft per charge. Choose a disk deck for daily scrubbing of most hard floors, an orbital deck for chemical-free floor finish removal and VCT prep, or a cylindrical deck to sweep and scrub grouted tile and rubber floors in one pass.

Reading the model numbers: In these Timberline part numbers, TL is the L-Series, the number is the cleaning path in inches and the letter is the deck: D for disk, R for orbital and C for cylindrical. Every L-Series model shares the same steel chassis, 19-gallon tanks, traction drive and vacuum system.
Features:
- RPS through-bolts the scrub deck, battery support, wheels, squeegee linkage and tanks to a 3/16 in powder-coated steel frame, not to the tanks
- Five protective barriers in the recovery tank keep moisture out of the vacuum motor
- Brushes and pads install and remove without tools, and squeegee blades rotate or flip without tools
- Soft corners and wall rollers come standard to protect walls, fixtures and goods
- Non-proprietary parts, so any technician with basic knowledge of battery-powered equipment can make repairs
