New Rhino AS-690 40" Walk Behind Sweeper
Our Take (from the SES Sales Team)
“The AS-690 is a simple way to sweep more floor per hour without moving up to a rider. A 15.7 in main brush and two side brushes give it a 40 in sweep path, and Rhino rates it at up to 43,000 sq ft per hour. That puts it in warehouse aisles, distribution centers, manufacturing floors and other large commercial spaces where a push broom or a narrow sweeper can’t keep up. It runs on one maintenance-free 12V 100Ah battery rated for up to 5 hours per charge, and the charger comes with the machine. The front-access hopper comes out without tools, and the dust-shaker clears the 16.1 sq ft filter mid-shift so suction stays strong. Two things to plan for. The hopper holds 0.78 cu ft, so on dirty floors the operator will empty it often; a full hopper or a blocked filter stops pickup. And keep the main brush set to the 0.12 to 0.2 in of floor contact Rhino calls for. More pressure doesn’t sweep better, it just wears the brush faster.”
A 40 in battery walk-behind sweeper for warehouses and large commercial floors
The Rhino AS-690 is a battery-powered walk-behind sweeper for commercial and industrial floors. A 15.7 in (400 mm) main brush works with dual side brushes for a 40 in (1,000 mm) sweep path, and Rhino rates it at up to 43,000 sq ft/hr (4,000 m²/hr).
Dust and light debris go into a 0.78 cu ft (22 L) front-access hopper, and a 16.1 sq ft (1.5 m²) filter with a dust-shaker keeps suction up. A standard water spray system with a 3.2 gal (12 L) tank helps hold down dust. A maintenance-free 12V 100Ah battery is rated for up to 5 hours per charge, and the battery, charger and ignition key all come with the machine.

Questions
Rhino AS-690: common questions
How much floor can it sweep in an hour?
Rhino rates the AS-690 at up to 43,000 sq ft/hr (4,000 m²/hr) with its 40 in sweep path. Real coverage depends on the layout, how dirty the floor is and how often the hopper needs emptying.
How long does the battery last?
The 12V 100Ah battery is rated for up to 5 hours per charge; heavier debris and more brush pressure shorten that. Recharge when the warning light or alarm comes on, and at least once every two months in storage.
What comes with it?
The sweeper unit, a 12V 100Ah battery, the battery charger and the ignition key. The key comes packed in the plastic bag with the manual.
What should it not pick up?
It’s built for dust and light debris. Rhino says not to sweep burning, smoking, flammable, toxic, sharp or stringy material such as rope or banding, or standing water. For larger debris, tip the front wheels up briefly as you move over it.
Why did it stop picking up?
Usually a full hopper or a blocked filter. Empty the hopper and use the dust-shaker to clear the filter. If the main brush has worn past the 0.12 to 0.2 in floor contact, lower it one notch on the right-side adjuster.
What routine maintenance does it need?
Rhino’s typical schedule: every 10 hours, check brush height, brush wear, the filter and the apron; every 50 to 100 hours, inspect the drive belt and tighten screws and nuts; every 200 to 500 hours, check brush and belt wear and replace the main brush belt as needed.
