New Onyx ZX7 27" Propane Concrete Floor Polisher

“The ZX7 is built for polishing large concrete floors where a cord would get in the way: warehouses, big-box retail, distribution centers and other wide-open slabs. With a 27-inch pad driver, an 8-gallon water system and about six hours of run time on a 20-pound cylinder, an operator can cover a big area before stopping to refuel.
Two details stand out. The 600 to 1,000 RPM pad speed is slower than the 1,000 to 1,800 RPM Onyx lists for its JX propane burnishers, and the installed dust skirt has a 2.5-inch port for connecting a vacuum. On the propane side, Onyx uses an internal vaporizer to keep the regulator from freezing and adds real-time emissions monitoring with its SAM Safe Air Monitor.
The trade-offs come with propane. At 295 pounds it is a heavy machine to move between sites, indoor use calls for the same carbon monoxide planning as any propane unit, and Onyx rates it below 87 dBA, which is still loud for occupied spaces. For burnishing finished resilient floors, Onyx's JX propane burnishers are the closer fit.”

The Onyx ZX7 is a 27-inch propane floor polisher for concrete. A 708cc, 19 HP EPA-certified LPG engine with 12-volt electric start turns the pad driver at 600 to 1,000 RPM, and Onyx rates productivity at up to 34,000 sq ft per hour. A 20-lb steel cylinder with an overfill protection device runs the machine for about 6 hours.
The working width includes an installed dust containment skirt with a 2.5-inch vacuum port, and an 8-gallon gravity-feed water system and a headlight are on board. The fuel system uses an internal vaporizer to prevent regulator freezing and an in-line fuel filter, and the SAM Safe Air Monitor tracks emissions in real time. The machine weighs 295 lb on a powder-coated reinforced steel frame.
