“The Kleen Sweep 40R is a compact rider for crews that are tired of push-sweeping big commercial and industrial floors. It sweeps a 40-inch path with a 28-inch main broom and an 18-inch side broom. It turns in a 70-inch radius, so it still gets down aisles, and the 2.1 cubic foot hopper means fewer stops to dump. Minuteman rates it at up to four hours of run time on its 24-volt system, and it can sweep commercial carpet as well as hard floors.

The only choice here is whether the batteries and charger come with it. Most buyers should get the Quick Pack so it is ready to run when it arrives. The base unit makes sense if you already have a matching 24-volt battery set and charger. If your floors are wide open and you want more coverage per pass, look at the Kleen Sweep 47R and its 50-inch path.”

A compact 40-inch battery rider sweeper for heavy-duty commercial use

The Minuteman Kleen Sweep 40R is a battery-powered ride-on floor sweeper built on a solid channeled-steel frame for heavy-duty commercial and industrial use. A 28 in chevron-style main broom works with the spring-loaded 18 in side broom to sweep a 40 in path, and a 2.1 cu ft hopper extends the time between dumps. Center-staff front-wheel drive turns it in a 70 in radius, and Minuteman lists commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality and retail facilities as its markets. Minuteman notes it can also be used on commercial carpeting. A plate dust filter with 30.1 sq ft (2.8 m²) of filter area and a filter shaker keep dust in the machine, and the standard 24 V battery pack gives up to four hours of continuous sweeping.

Reading the model numbers: In Minuteman’s numbers, B is the battery-powered sweeper and BQP is the Quick Pack with batteries and charger. The 40R is the narrower of the two Kleen Sweep riders; the Kleen Sweep 47R uses the same chassis and sweeps a 50 in path.
