New Karcher IB 7/40 Advanced Dry Ice Blaster
Our Take (from the SES Sales Team)
“The IB 7/40 Advanced is the compact pellet-fed blaster in Kärcher's dry ice line, aimed at plants and shops that want to clean molds, production equipment and machinery in place, with no blasting residue left to clean up. Its main selling point is air demand: it works at 29 to 145 psi with 17.6 to 123 cfm, so many facilities can run it from their existing compressed air system instead of bringing in a large compressor.
What stands out is the Advanced jet gun. The operator sets blasting pressure and dry ice quantity right at the gun and switches between air only and air with ice, so there is no walking back to the machine between surfaces. The stainless steel unit also has an integrated oil and water separator and a button that empties leftover ice so it doesn't freeze up after the job.
The trade-off is what it needs around it: a steady supply of dry ice pellets, dry and oil-free air, and hearing protection, since Kärcher lists 99 dB(A). If buying and storing pellets is the sticking point, look at the IB 10/8 L2P, which makes its own pellets from liquid CO2.”
“Thomas Mitchell has been an amazing help. Not pushy or bothersome with anything, he got me all the information I needed. … Thank you so much for the help, I'm looking forward to the delivery of my new dry ice blasting machine!” — William G., Google review
Compact dry ice blasting that runs on in-house compressed air.
The Kärcher IB 7/40 Advanced cleans with 0.12 in (3 mm) dry ice pellets carried by compressed air. The pellets turn into CO2 gas on impact, so no blasting media is left behind and machines do not need to be taken apart for cleaning. It removes rubber residue, oil, grease, release agents and dyes from molds, parts and equipment, using 33 to 110 lb (15 to 50 kg) of dry ice per hour.
It runs on 120 V power and connects to dry, oil-free compressed air at 29 to 145 psi through a DIN 3238 claw coupling. Blasting pressure and dry ice quantity are set on the Advanced jet gun, which also has an air-only or air-and-ice switch. The stainless steel unit has a clear display with large buttons, an integrated oil and water separator, a ground strap, a transport handle and steering casters with a parking brake.
