“The BVL 3/1 Bp is the smaller, simpler sibling of Kärcher's BVL 5/1 Bp, and it fits teams that vacuum in short bursts rather than all shift: classroom and office touch-ups, retail floors between customers, hotel corridors, and stairs, where an upright is awkward and a cord is a hazard. At 10.8 lb without accessories, it is easy to put on and take off between tasks.
What stands out is how much of the BVL 5/1 Bp's design it keeps. You still get the EPP housing, the brushless EC motor, the waist-strap controls, the left- or right-handed hose setup and the eco!efficiency mode, and the 36 V Battery Power+ battery works in other Kärcher cordless machines.
The trade-offs are capacity and power. The container holds 0.8 gal versus 1.3 gal on the BVL 5/1 Bp, the motor is rated 350 W versus 500 W, and the included 5.0 Ah battery gives up to 52 minutes in eco mode but about 31 minutes in power mode. If the vacuum will run most of a shift, look at the BVL 5/1 Bp instead.”

The Kärcher BVL 3/1 Bp is a cordless backpack vacuum on the 36 V Kärcher Battery Power+ platform. Its expanded polypropylene (EPP) housing keeps it at 10.8 lb (4.9 kg) without accessories, and a brushless EC motor rated at 350 W moves 75 cfm into a 0.8 gal (3 L) container lined with a fleece filter bag.
Kärcher aims it at spot cleaning, stairs and cleaning around objects in schools, retail and hospitality. A deuter carrying frame spreads the load, the control panel sits on the waist strap, and the hose can be connected for right- or left-handed users. Run time is up to 52 minutes in eco mode on the included 5.0 Ah battery, or up to 73 minutes on a 7.5 Ah battery.
