“The BVL 5/1 Bp makes the most sense for crews that vacuum lots of small, cluttered spaces: theater rows, bus and rail interiors, aircraft cabins, offices with tight desk layouts, and stairwells. With no cord there is nothing to drag, plug in or trip over, and the EPP shell keeps the unit at about 11 lb without accessories, so it stays comfortable on the back for longer stretches.
The details are what make it practical. The controls sit on the waist strap instead of the pack, the hose can be set up for left- or right-handed operators, and the brushless EC motor is built for wear resistance and long service life. Because it runs on the same 36 V Battery Power+ batteries as other Kärcher cordless machines, a site already on that platform can share batteries and chargers.
The honest trade-off is run time. Expect up to 50 minutes in eco mode on the 6.0 Ah battery and about 22 minutes in power mode, so plan on a spare battery for long routes. If the work is mostly open carpet, an upright or wide-area vacuum will cover ground faster.”

The Kärcher BVL 5/1 Bp is a cordless backpack vacuum built on the 36 V Kärcher Battery Power+ platform. Its housing is made from expanded polypropylene (EPP), which keeps the unit at 11 lb (5 kg) without accessories while staying robust. A brushless EC motor rated at 500 W moves 85 cfm into a 1.3 gal (5 L) container fitted with a fleece filter bag.
Kärcher designed it for tight spaces where cords get in the way, such as theater seating, buses, trains and airplanes. A control panel on the waist strap handles the main functions, eco!efficiency mode extends run time, and the suction hose can be connected for right- or left-handed users. Run time is up to 50 minutes in eco mode on a 6.0 Ah battery, or up to 64 minutes with a 7.5 Ah battery.
