“The HDS 1.7/12 U Ed is Kärcher's entry-level upright hot water pressure washer, aimed at tradesmen, maintenance crews and contract cleaners who want hot water but only have an ordinary 120 V outlet. An electric motor runs the pump and a fuel-oil or diesel burner heats the water to 176°F, which cuts grease and oil far more easily than cold water at the same pressure.
The upright layout is the selling point. It stands on a 24.3 x 24.3 in footprint, has large wheels and a tilting aid for steps and rough ground, and the pump and fuel tank are spill-proof so it can lie down in a small service van. Controls are simple, with off, cold and hot settings, and it comes with the EASY!Force trigger gun, a 33 ft hose and a 33 in lance.
The trade-off is output. At 1.7 gpm and 1,200 psi it suits light commercial work such as equipment, entryways, dumpster pads and small vehicles, not daily fleet washing. If the machine will run for hours every day, look at a larger HDS class model.”

The Kärcher HDS 1.7/12 U Ed (1.064-907.0) is an HDS Upright Class hot water pressure washer with an electric motor and a fuel-oil or diesel burner. It delivers 1.7 gpm at 1,200 psi and heats water up to 176°F (80°C), running on a 110-120 V single-phase supply. A flue gas temperature monitor protects the burner, and a fine-mesh water filter protects the high-pressure pump.
The upright frame measures 24.3 x 24.3 x 39.1 in and has large wheels, a tilting aid for steps, and support points for horizontal transport, with a spill-proof pump and fuel tank. A central panel offers off, cold and hot modes. The machine has a holder for the spray lance, cord storage, a nozzle compartment, a tank lock and a 1.7 gal fuel tank with a level indicator.
