“The BV 7/1 Vac Pac 6 HEPA suits crews who vacuum where an upright gets in the way: classrooms full of desks, offices with cubicles, stairs, theaters and transit vehicles. Worn on the back, it frees both hands for the wand and lets the operator work around furniture instead of pushing a machine between it.
The details make it practical day to day. Kärcher rates it at 67 dB(A), quiet enough for daytime cleaning, and it filters through a cloth bag, a paper bag and a HEPA pleated filter at the motor. The hose swivels 360 degrees at the top so it does not kink, the on/off switch sits on the hip, and the 50 ft cord covers a lot of floor between outlets.
The trade-off is capacity. The 6 qt bag fills sooner than the 10 qt bag on the BV 11/1, which is the same machine about 4 in taller and slightly heavier. If routes are long or the debris load is heavy, look at the BV 11/1 instead.”

The Kärcher BV 7/1 Vac Pac 6 HEPA (1.014-013.0) is a corded backpack vacuum for dry pick-up with a 6 qt (1.5 gal) capacity. Kärcher rates it at 112 cfm of airflow and 104 in of water lift. Debris collects in a paper bag inside a cloth filter bag, with a HEPA pleated filter at the bottom of the chamber, and the machine runs on a standard 120 V outlet with a 50 ft cord.
The housing is rugged molded polyethylene. The harness has padded shoulder straps and hip belt that adjust to fit nearly any operator, plus a sternum strap, so most of the weight rides on the hips. A 360-degree swivel at the top keeps the hose from tangling, the power switch is mounted on the hip, and Kärcher rates operation at 67 dB(A). The unit weighs 10.1 lb.
