“The Cimex Surface Scarifier is the heavy-duty version of the Cimex three-head machine, built for floor preparation rather than finishing. It is aimed at flooring contractors and plant maintenance teams who need to take adhesive, carpet backing foam, rubber, paint, rust or impacted grease off a floor before new flooring or coatings go down.
The three heads counter-rotate on a 19-inch path at 400 rpm, which cuts down the pulling you get from a single-disc machine, and the floating heads ride over uneven concrete. Wire brushes push onto the drive pins, while heavy tools such as carbide scrapers, star wheels and carbide blocks bolt on. Reversing the head direction each time the lever is pulled helps brushes wear evenly. Horseshoe weights stack on top when the job needs more bite.
Keep in mind that scarifying is a dry process with a harsh abrasive action, so it belongs on resilient floors like concrete, steel plate and tile, not on finished stone. For grinding and polishing marble or terrazzo, look at the Cimex Diamond Finisher, which runs at 880 rpm and has a solution tank.”

The Cimex Surface Scarifier R48HD is a heavy-duty three-head floor machine for scarifying and floor preparation. It removes impacted oil, grease and debris from concrete, rust, paint and soiling from steel checker plate, and glue, carpet backing foam and rubber after flooring removal. Truvox also lists clearing ice build-up from cold store floors.
Three counter-rotating heads, each 7.9 inches across, cover a 19-inch path at 400 rpm, driven by a 2 hp motor. Scarifying brushes push onto the drive pins and lock with retaining clips, while heavy-duty tools such as carbide scrapers and star wheels bolt on. The floating heads follow uneven floors, horseshoe weights add cutting pressure, and head direction reverses each time the lever is operated.
