“The Clarke FM40 LX is the feature-rich version of the FM40 orbital floor machine, aimed at operators who move a machine between rooms, floors and job sites. It keeps the ST's 1.5 hp motor, 3,540 rpm orbital deck and 14 x 20-inch pad, so it handles corner scrubbing, chemical-free finish removal and recoat prep in the spaces where a large autoscrubber doesn't make sense.

The LX earns its keep with three additions. A baseboard cleaner attachment comes standard. Six-inch wheels drop down for forward-and-back driving like a burnisher, with control Clarke describes as balanced enough for one hand, or lift for traditional side-to-side work. And the handle detaches, so the machine comes apart without tools into yellow-marked pieces that are easier to lift into a vehicle.

The trade-off is weight and parts count: 169 lb with the weights installed, and modular pieces that need to stay together. For a machine that lives in one building and never touches baseboards, the FM40 ST does the same scrubbing with less to manage.”

The Clarke FM40 LX is a corded orbital floor machine with a 14 x 20-inch pad deck and a 1.5 hp motor that drives the deck at 3,540 rpm with a 1/4-inch orbit. The weight kit of three 21 lb weights brings down pressure to 160 lb, the 50 ft safety-yellow cord runs on 120 V, and vibration-dampening materials keep it at 68 dB(A).

Standard LX features include a baseboard cleaner attachment, an adjustable detachable handle and 6-inch wheels that switch between wheels-up and wheels-down modes. The machine disassembles without tools, with each modular component painted bright yellow for identification. With the right pads it scrubs, strips finish without chemicals, cleans grout, bonnet cleans carpet and preps floors; dust containment and solution tank kits are optional.
