“The VU500 15 is the wider version of Advance's single-motor commercial upright, with a 14.5-inch path for open offices, hallways, lobbies and meeting rooms with medium and low-cut pile carpet. Automatic brush height handles the switch between carpet and hard floor, and the Radius Turning System keeps it maneuverable around desks and chairs.
It uses the same 1,000-watt, 2-stage motor as the VU500 12, with 92 inches of water lift and 93 cfm, and the same three-stage filtration: 2-ply paper bag, motor pre-filter and certified HEPA exhaust filter. The 50-foot detachable cord covers more floor per outlet, and a quick cord clip and cord restraints keep it out of the brush. It weighs 19.8 pounds with the cord and runs at 68 dB(A).
The trade-off is the 3.4-quart bag, which is small for a 15-inch machine working big floors, and the wider head is less handy in cramped hotel rooms. If most of your work is between beds and furniture, the VU500 12 fits better. For manual height control and a 4.2-quart bag, compare the Clarke CarpetMaster 115.”

Its dual-row chevron brush turns at 2,800 rpm and adjusts its own height as the vacuum moves between floor surfaces. The Radius Turning System allows short turns, and a 1,000 W, 2-stage motor provides 92 in of water lift and 93 cfm.
Three-stage filtration uses a 2-ply paper bag, a motor pre-filter and a certified HEPA exhaust filter rated to capture 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns and larger, and the VU500 carries the CRI Seal of Approval (Silver). An indicator light shows a full bag or clog, the 50 ft cord detaches for service, and the brush comes out without tools. It weighs 19.8 lb with cord and runs at 68 dB(A).
