“The CVD 48/2 is the widest machine in Tornado's Deluxe CVD upright line, a 19-inch head with its own brush motor. It is built for large carpeted rooms where path width saves passes: open office floors, meeting and ballroom spaces, libraries and long corridors. On that kind of floor, the extra four inches over the CVD 38/2 add up over a shift.
It keeps everything that makes the CVD line easy to own. The wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush ride on board, filtration runs through a disposable bag, an intake filter and a HEPA cartridge, and the base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools. Tornado's manual describes a brush-monitoring lamp that warns when the carpet-height setting is off or the brush roll is worn.
The trade-off is maneuverability. A 19-inch head is harder to work between desk legs, chairs and tight corners, and at 21 pounds it is not light on stairs. Tornado's manual also describes it as a carpet vacuum that is not suited to hard floors. For cluttered rooms, the 15-inch CVD 38/2 is easier to steer.”

The Tornado CVD 48/2 (catalog 91442) is the 19-inch, dual-motor model in Tornado's Deluxe CVD line of commercial upright vacuums, which Tornado offers for more power and suction. A separate 150-watt brush motor drives the plastic brush roll. The vacuum runs on 120 V, weighs 21 lb, measures 14 x 19 x 45 inches and is rated at 67 dB(A), and Tornado rates productivity at about 4,000 sq ft per hour.
Debris collects in a 6-quart CleanBreeze disposable filter bag, followed by an intake filter and a HEPA filter cartridge, and Tornado lists the CVD vacuums as HEPA certified and fully sealed. A wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush are stored on board. The base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools, power runs through a pigtail and 40-ft cord, and the handle lowers flat.
