New Tornado CVD 38/2 15" Dual Motor Upright Vacuum with Tools and HEPA Filtration

“The CVD 38/2 is the 15-inch, two-motor version of Tornado's Deluxe CVD upright. It fits buildings with more open carpet than a 12-inch machine handles comfortably, like office floors, school hallways and classrooms, and hotel corridors. The second motor runs the brush roll on its own, which is the main reason to step up from a single-motor upright.
Day to day, it works like the rest of the CVD line. The wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush ride on the machine, filtration runs through a disposable bag, an intake filter and a HEPA cartridge, and the base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools. Tornado's manual also describes an indicator lamp that lights when the carpet-height setting is wrong or the brush roll is worn.
The trade-off is weight and focus. At 21 pounds it is heavier than the 12-inch CVD 30/1, and Tornado's manual describes it as a carpet vacuum that is not suited to hard floors. If the space is mostly hard floor or stairs, a backpack vacuum such as the Pac-Vac 10 Aircomfort is a closer match.”

The Tornado CVD 38/2 (catalog 91440) is the 15-inch, dual-motor model in Tornado's Deluxe CVD line of commercial upright vacuums, which Tornado offers for more power and suction. A separate 150-watt brush motor drives the plastic brush roll. The vacuum runs on 120 V, weighs 21 lb and is rated at 67 dB(A), and Tornado rates productivity at about 3,400 sq ft per hour.
Debris collects in a 6-quart CleanBreeze disposable filter bag, followed by an intake filter and a HEPA filter cartridge, and Tornado lists the CVD vacuums as HEPA certified and fully sealed. A wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush are stored on board. The base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools, power runs through a pigtail and 40-ft cord, and the handle lowers flat.
