New Tornado CVD 38/1 15" Upright Vacuum with Tools and HEPA Filtration

“The CVD 38/1 is the 15-inch, single-motor version of Tornado's Deluxe CVD upright. It fits daily carpet vacuuming in offices, schools, hotels and healthcare spaces with larger open areas, where the wider head covers more floor per pass than the 12-inch CVD 30/1. Tornado lists it as CRI Gold and LEED qualifying.
What stands out is how much is built in. The wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush ride on the machine, and filtration runs through three stages: a CleanBreeze disposable filter bag, an intake filter and a HEPA filter cartridge. The base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools when something jams, the handle lowers flat to reach under furniture, and the cord plugs into a pigtail, so a damaged cord is a quick swap.
The trade-off is the single motor. The CVD 38/2 adds a separate brush motor on the same 15-inch path for more brush power. Tornado's manual also describes the CVD as a carpet vacuum that is not suited to hard floors, so plan on a different machine for tile or VCT.”

The Tornado CVD 38/1 (catalog 91438) is the single-motor, 15-inch model in Tornado's Deluxe CVD line of commercial upright vacuums. A 9-amp motor on 120 V produces 102 CFM of airflow and 81.5 inches of water lift, and Tornado rates it at 66 dB. Debris collects in a CleanBreeze disposable filter bag, and Tornado lists the model as CRI Gold and LEED qualifying.
Filtration is a three-stage system made up of the disposable bag, an intake filter and a HEPA filter cartridge. A wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush are stored on board. The base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools, power runs through a pigtail and 40-ft extension cord, and the handle lowers flat to reach under furniture. The vacuum weighs 18 lb.
