“The CVD 30/1 is the 12-inch, single-motor version of Tornado's Deluxe CVD upright. It suits daily carpet vacuuming in offices, classrooms, hotel rooms and healthcare spaces, where a narrow head fits between desks, beds and chairs. At 17.4 pounds it is a full commercial upright rather than a featherweight, but the handle lowers flat to reach under furniture.
What stands out is how much is built in. The wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush ride on the machine, and the HEPA filter cartridge sits behind a disposable bag and an intake filter. The base plate, hose and brush roll come off without tools when something jams, and the cord plugs into a pigtail, so a damaged cord is a quick swap.
The trade-offs are the single motor and the narrow path. The dual-motor CVD 38/2 and CVD 48/2 add a separate brush motor and cover 15 and 19 inches, which matters in big open carpet. Tornado's manual also describes the CVD as a carpet vacuum that is not suited to hard floors.”

The Tornado CVD 30/1 (catalog 91430) is the single-motor, 12-inch model in Tornado's Deluxe CVD line of commercial upright vacuums. A 9-amp motor on 120 V produces 102 CFM of airflow and 81.5 inches of water lift, and Tornado rates productivity at 2,239 sq ft per hour and sound at 66 dB. Debris collects in a 1.72-gallon CleanBreeze disposable filter bag.
Filtration is a three-stage system made up of the disposable bag, an intake filter and a HEPA filter cartridge, and Tornado lists the CVD vacuums as HEPA certified and fully sealed. A wand, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush are stored on board. The base plate, hose and brush roll open without tools, power runs through a pigtail and 40-ft cord, and the handle lowers flat to reach under furniture.
