New Karcher BDS 43/Orbital C 17" Floor Buffer with ORB Technology
Our Take (from the SES Sales Team)
“The BDS 43/Orbital C is for crews that want one 17-inch machine for several jobs: deep scrubbing, chemical-free stripping with an SPP pad, carpet cleaning and stone care. Kärcher's ORB Technology moves the pad in a dual-motion orbital pattern with the pad flat on the floor, so the machine does not swing or pull the way a rotary buffer does. That makes it easier for new operators to control and less tiring over a long shift.
Two details stand out. Two spray nozzles at the front and a 3.2-gallon detergent tank put solution where the pad is working, and Reverse Handle Mode takes the wheels off the floor and raises pad pressure from 84 to 121 pounds for heavier scrubbing. Kärcher rates it at 7,000 square feet per hour on carpet and 6,000 when stripping.
It is not a high-speed burnisher, so for daily high-gloss work on large areas look at a 2,000 rpm burnisher instead. Pads are separate, so choose them for your floors.”
Orbital scrubbing, stripping and carpet care in one 17-inch machine.
The Kärcher BDS 43/Orbital C is a 17-inch corded floor machine built around ORB Technology, a dual-motion orbital pad drive. Instead of swinging side to side like a rotary machine, the pad lies flat on the floor and orbits, which Kärcher says reduces vibration and operator fatigue and gives more even pad wear. The handle tilts to about hip height, and the cleaning head swivels up for pad changes.
Two spray nozzles at the front apply cleaning solution from a 3.2-gallon (12 L) detergent tank, and a dosing lever feeds solution to the pad. Kärcher lists deep scrubbing, stripping, carpet cleaning, polishing and crystallization on marble, concrete, stone, vinyl and carpet, rated at 7,000 sq ft/hr on carpet and 6,000 sq ft/hr stripping. Reverse Handle Mode raises maximum brush pressure from 84 to 121 lb.
