“The Sensor S12 is Kärcher's straightforward 12-inch, single-motor upright for daily carpet vacuuming in offices, schools, hotel rooms and healthcare spaces. The 1,200-watt motor drives both the suction and a 2,700 rpm brush, and at 16 pounds it is 2 pounds lighter than the Sensor XP 12.
What stands out is how it protects itself and the operator. The cover will not close without a bag, the machine will not run without the bag and filter in place, and an electronic brush monitor lights up when the brush needs adjusting or jams, shutting the machine down if the warning is ignored. The handle lowers flat to reach under beds and furniture, and the crevice and upholstery tools ride on the back.
The trade-off is brush height. You set it with a four-position pile knob, where the Sensor XP adjusts on its own, and HEPA filtration is an optional kit rather than standard. If operators change carpet types all day, the XP 12 is the better fit.”

The Kärcher Sensor S12 (1.012-615.0) is a 12-inch single-motor commercial upright vacuum. Its 1,200 W motor on 120 V, 10 A produces 105 cfm of airflow and 90 in of water lift and drives a 2,700 rpm brush through a toothed belt. Debris collects in a 5.6-quart (5.3 L) bag, and Kärcher says the standard high-efficiency filter traps up to 99.6% of particles at 0.3 microns.
Brush height is set with a four-position pile knob, and an electronic controller watches the brush and lights a warning when it needs adjusting or is jammed. The brush lifts automatically when the handle is upright, and the handle lowers flat to the floor. Kärcher rates the S12 at 2,510 sq ft per hour and 69 dBA; it weighs 16 lb and has a 40-ft cord.
