“The Sensor XP 12 is Kärcher's 12-inch, single-motor upright with automatic brush-height adjustment. The 12-inch head suits hotel rooms, offices and classrooms with furniture to work around, and at 18 pounds with a 1,200-watt motor it is light enough for daily room-to-room work.
What stands out is how much the machine looks after itself. The brush height adjusts automatically and sits flush on hard floors, and indicator lights warn of a full bag, a blockage, a brush that needs adjusting or a jam. Ignore them and the machine shuts down. The crevice and upholstery nozzles ride on the back with a telescopic wand and hose, and the brush comes out without tools.
The trade-offs are filtration and width. It comes with a high-efficiency filter and HEPA is an optional kit, so if you need HEPA from day one, look at the Sensor S2 12 HEPA. For open areas, the XP 15 and XP 18 cover more floor per pass.”

The Kärcher Sensor XP 12 (1.012-611.0) is a 12-inch single-motor commercial upright vacuum with automatic brush-height adjustment. On carpet the adjustment wheel raises the brush to suit the pile, and on hard floors it retracts so the brush is flush with the floor. A single 1,200 W (1.6 hp) motor on 120 V produces 105 cfm of airflow and 90 in of water lift and drives a 2,700 rpm double-row brush.
Debris collects in a 1.4-gallon triple-layer bag, and Kärcher says the standard high-efficiency filter traps up to 99.6% of particles at 0.3 microns; a HEPA filter kit is optional. Indicator lights report a full bag or blockage, brush height and brush jams, and the machine shuts down if they are ignored. The handle lowers flat, and Kärcher rates the XP 12 at 2,655 sq ft per hour and 69 dBA.
