“The Admiral 8 is a walk-behind, self-contained carpet extractor sized for routine deep cleaning in offices, schools, hotels and apartment common areas. It pairs a 15-inch path with 8-gallon solution and recovery tanks, and Kärcher rates its practical productivity at 2,500 square feet per hour.
What stands out is how simple it is to run. The no-hose design makes filling and dumping straightforward, the controls sit at the operator's fingertips on an adjustable handle, and the 15-inch cylindrical brush adjusts to eight cleaning positions, with a storage position to protect the bristles. A floating vacuum shoe follows the contour of the carpet, and accessory tools plug into quick-connect ports for stairs and upholstery.
The trade-off is size. At 92 pounds and 45 inches long, it is a machine to roll between rooms, not carry up stairs, and 8 gallons means refills on large jobs. For bigger floors, look at the Clipper 12 with its 18-inch path and 12-gallon tanks; for smaller rooms, the Cadet 7 is a little shorter and lighter.”

The Kärcher Admiral 8 (1.008-017.0) is a carpet extractor with a 15-inch cleaning path, an 8-gallon solution tank and an 8-gallon recovery tank. Its 15-inch cylindrical brush adjusts to eight cleaning positions plus a storage position that Kärcher says increases brush life, and a floating vacuum shoe follows the contour of the carpet.
A three-stage, bypass, 1.5 hp vacuum motor and a 100 psi pump handle extraction, and two quick-change jets apply the solution. The adjustable handle carries fingertip controls, the no-hose design simplifies filling and emptying, and accessory tools attach to quick-connect ports for upholstery, stairs and detail areas. An optional hard floor kit adds a brush, squeegee and water pressure reduction switch.
