New Karcher iCapsol BRS 43/500 C Basic 17" Interim Carpet Cleaner
Our Take (from the SES Sales Team)
“The iCapsol BRS 43/500 C Basic is a 17-inch interim carpet cleaner for offices, schools, hotels and other carpeted areas that need to look clean between deep extractions without closing for hours. It uses encapsulation: you spray an iCapsol solution, two counter-rotating brushes work it into the pile, and the chemical dries into crystals that are vacuumed up.
What stands out is the turnaround. Kärcher says treated carpet is dry in about 20 minutes, and the 470 rpm brushes also lift and groom the pile. At 48 pounds, with a handle that lowers to reach under furniture, it is easy for one person to move between floors.
Know which version you are getting. This Basic model has no built-in spray tank, so you pre-spray with a separate sprayer, such as a small pump-up sprayer the machine can carry. If you want to spray while you brush, look at the BRS 43/500 C Deluxe with its 2-gallon on-board tank. It also doesn't extract, so heavily soiled carpet still needs a periodic hot-water extraction.”
Encapsulation carpet cleaning with carpet dry in about 20 minutes.
The Kärcher iCapsol BRS 43/500 C Basic is a 17-inch encapsulating interim carpet cleaner for use with iCapsol encapsulation chemicals. Diluted chemical is sprayed onto the carpet, then two counter-rotating cylindrical brushes at 470 rpm work it into both sides of the carpet nap. The chemical surrounds the soil and dries into hard, non-sticky crystals in about 20 minutes, which are then removed with routine vacuuming.
The Basic model has no built-in spray tank. Kärcher's instructions call for vacuuming first, then pre-spraying diluted chemical at 600 to 1,000 sq ft per gallon, for example with a small pump-up sprayer the machine can carry. The brushes lift and groom the pile while a debris tray catches loose soil. It runs on 120 V with a 0.5 hp motor and a 40 ft cord, and weighs 48 lb.
