“The Clarke FM40 ST is a compact orbital floor machine for the small areas where a large autoscrubber doesn't make sense: restrooms, small rooms, corners, edges and spot stripping. Its 14 x 20-inch rectangular deck runs pads right into corners, and Clarke positions it alongside BOOST scrubbers for chemical-free finish removal in the spots they can't reach.

The standout is how much work it does for its size. The 1.5 hp motor spins the orbital deck at 3,540 rpm, and the weight kit of three 21 lb weights brings down pressure to 160 lb, which means fewer passes. Vibration-dampening material keeps it at 68 dB(A), and swapping pads turns it into a grout cleaner, a carpet bonnet machine, a gym recoat prep tool or a burnisher for terrazzo, marble and concrete.

The trade-off is that the ST is the plain version: 5-inch wheels, wheels-up operation only, and the baseboard cleaner as an option. If baseboards are a regular task or the machine travels between buildings, the FM40 LX includes the baseboard cleaner, a wheels-down driving mode and a detachable handle.”

The Clarke FM40 ST is a corded orbital floor machine with a 14 x 20-inch pad deck. Its 1.5 hp motor drives the deck at 3,540 rpm with a 1/4-inch orbit, and the included weight kit of three 21 lb weights brings down pressure to 160 lb. It runs on 120 V through a 50 ft safety-yellow cord, and vibration-dampening materials hold sound to 68 dB(A).

With the appropriate pads, the FM40 scrubs small and hard-to-reach areas, removes floor finish without chemicals alongside Clarke BOOST machines, cleans grout, preps gym floors for recoat, bonnet cleans carpet and burnishes terrazzo, marble and concrete. The ST runs in wheels-up mode on 5-inch wheels and has a safety switch; a baseboard cleaner, dust containment kit and solution tank kit are optional.
